To regulate the amount of free radicals, our body has a defense system: the antioxidant system.
This system operates under different complex process and requires different elements to work properly, like vitamins, minerals, enzymes, bioflavonoid. A sufficient consumption of fruits and vegetables is essential to ensure effective protection against excess free radicals.
When our antioxidant system can no longer cope with the excessive free radicals, it is called oxidative stress.
