There are many strategies to prevent blisters caused by irritation of the skin. You can wear comfortable shoes that fit well, averaging quilting feet and absorb perspiration. Wear sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun.

Be particularly careful to avoid sun exposure if you are taking medications that cause sun sensitivity, such as doxycycline. During the colder months, wear gloves, hats and thick socks to protect your skin from freezing temperatures and cold winds.

Avoid as much as possible irritants and allergens that tend to trigger eczema, as certain hygiene products (bubble bath), feminine hygiene sprays, certain metals in jewelry, particularly nickel and irritating plants such as poison ivy.

To prevent blisters caused by infections, wash your hands often and never touch the sores and cuts on your skin or any open area or damaged skin of another person. To reduce the risk of herpes simplex, never have sex (even with a condom) with someone who has active herpes. And while fewer sexual partners you have, the lower the risk of herpes simplex. To prevent the spread of childhood infections, try to avoid children to share toys and utensils touched another child with his mouth.

To prevent chickenpox and to help prevent shingles, your child vaccinated with the vaccine against chickenpox. People who have not had chickenpox should avoid being with people who have chickenpox or shingles until all blisters have created the crust. Adults can be vaccinated if they have never had chickenpox, especially if risk of exposure (eg, daycare workers and teachers).

There is no known way to prevent many of ampullary diseases such as inherited forms of autoimmune bullous disease.

If it is not clear the cause of your blisters, your doctor will ask about family history and medical history, including any allergies you have had and any medications you take, including prescription medications. The doctor will also ask about recent exposure to irritating chemicals or allergens.

Your doctor can often diagnose the cause of your blisters as these have the appearance and medical history. If your doctor suspects an allergic reaction may recommend patch tests with chemicals to identify the allergen.

Some diseases are diagnosed with bullous skin biopsy, which is removed through a small piece of tissue and examined in the laboratory.

Duration

The duration of the blisters depends on the cause. For example, blisters caused by irritation generally go away by themselves within a few days, and those triggered by infections and skin diseases can remain for weeks or months. In autoimmune bullous disease, the blisters can be chronic and require ongoing treatment.

In skin infections, including infection by herpes simplex virus, blisters can return periodically. Blistering diseases of the skin due to hereditary causes are also chronic conditions.

In general, blisters are round or oval fluid under the skin that may be painful or itchy, or may not have symptoms. Symptoms vary depending on the cause:

    * Irritation, burns and allergies: the blisters caused by friction and burns are usually painful. The blisters formed because of eczema may be accompanied by redness, severe itching and small bumps on the affected skin.
* Infections: when blisters form due to infection, the symptoms depend on the type of infection. Some examples are:
or bullous impetigo, the affected skin may become red and the blisters break easily.
or herpes simplex virus: when the herpes simplex type 1 is the cause, the tiny blisters commonly known as herpes or cold sores cheilitis. These usually appear on the lips. You may feel itching, tingling, swelling and redness in the affected skin where blisters appear. When the blisters finally burst, the fluid begins to leak and form painful sores. The herpes simplex type 2 is the most common cause of genital herpes, a sexually transmitted infection (although the type 1 herpes can also cause genital herpes). Generally, the small red bumps appear in the affected area before the blisters, typically in the area of the vagina or penis, buttocks, thighs, or anus. Other symptoms may include fever, muscle aches, headache and burning during urination.
or varicella zoster virus, the virus causes chickenpox when the infection begins with diffuse rash, stinging and quickly turns into blisters that itch. Varicella zoster can also cause shingles (herpes zoster). People with shingles may experience small painful blister that usually appears as a linear pattern along the affected nerve.
o Coxsackievirus: Coxsackievirus A16 can cause a condition commonly called mouth disease Hand, foot, in which painful blisters often occur on the hands, soles of the feet or mouth.
* Skin: Polymorphic erythema typically causes blisters on the palms of the hands, forearms, soles, and mucous membrane of the eyes, nose, mouth and genitals. Other symptoms include fever, sore throat, cough and muscle aches. Autoimmune disease (also known as bullous disease because it forms large blisters) also vary in appearance. Dermatitis herpetiformis causes red bumps or blisters and itching. Pemphigoid, a rare condition that primarily affects the elderly, causing large blisters and itching, and pemphigus, a rare disease that tends to occur in middle age, causes blisters in the mouth and on the surface of the skin . Pemphigus blisters burst easily and leave painful areas.
* Drugs: reactions to drugs vary. In some cases, there is just more sensitive to sunlight, which can cause blistering sunburn if the skin is exposed to sunlight. In severe reactions, such as the NET, the blisters can affect large areas of tissue, including parts of the respiratory and digestive tract, accompanied by fever and malaise.

A blister is a bag of fluid under the skin. The clear, watery fluid inside the blister is called serum. This serum comes from the surrounding tissues in response to broken skin. If the blister is closed, the serum provides natural protection to the skin under the blister. The small blisters called vesicles. Those longer than half an inch (1.27 cm) are called blisters. A blood blister is filled with blood instead of serum.

There are many reasons for forming a blister, these include:

    * Irritation: blisters can be formed by physical factors that irritate the skin, such as friction (rubbing the skin), irritating chemicals, extreme cold or heat. Blisters on the feet can be caused by shoes that are too tight or scraping the skin in a particular area. The blisters may also be caused by contact dermatitis, a skin reaction to some type of chemical irritant. The intense cold can trigger frostbite, which often lead to blisters once the skin returns to normal temperature is reached. Any type of burn, even the sun can also form blisters.
* Allergies: allergic contact dermatitis, a form of dermatitis or eczema, can cause blisters. Allergic contact dermatitis is caused by an allergy to a chemical or toxin, poison ivy, poison oak or poison sumac.
* Infections: Infections that cause blisters include bullous impetigo, a skin infection caused by staph, viral infections, sores and genital areas caused by the herpes simplex virus (type 1 and 2), varicella zoster (shingles) , which are caused by the varicella-zoster virus, and Coxsackie virus infections. which are very common during childhood.
* Skin: Many skin conditions cause blisters. Examples include edermatitis herpetiformis, pemphigoid and pemphigus. There are also inherited forms of conditions of blisters on the skin, such as epidermolysis bullosa (where the pressure commonly causes blisters) and porphyria cutanea tarda (where exposure to the sun causes blisters).
* Medications: Many medications, such as nalidixic acid (NegGram) and furosemide (Lasix) can cause skin reactions in ampullary. Others, such as doxycycline (Vibramycin), may increase the risk of blistering sunburn by increasing skin sensitivity to sunlight exposure. In more drastic cases, the drugs can trigger more severe ampullary diseases may endanger life, such as erythema Polymorphic or toxic epidermal necrolysis, also known as NET, a disease that causes acute damage to the skin and usually affects the 30% or more of the body surface.

It is not necessary to treat primary amenorrhea caused by late puberty and disappears alone. In the case of primary amenorrhea caused by certain genetic abnormalities (hereditary), treatment depends on the problem.

For example, if a genetic defect prevents the ovaries of a young working properly, ovarian hormones may be prescribed complementary to the young develop normal secondary sexual characteristics (breast development, pubic hair) and to prevent osteoporosis (bone-thinning disease), which can be caused by low estrogen levels.

If the cause of amenorrhea is a structural problem, for example if the vagina has an unusual shape or has an opening, it is usually necessary to perform surgery.

If you have secondary amenorrhea due to menopause or a hysterectomy, your doctor will prescribe medication to prevent osteoporosis and other complications of low estrogen levels. In the case of other forms of secondary amenorrhea, the type of treatment depends on the cause:

    * Stress: If emotional stress is the problem, your doctor may recommend that you enroll in a course to learn to handle it.
* Obesity: If obesity is the trigger for this condition, your doctor will order a diet and exercise program to help you lose weight and improve your overall fitness.
* Excessive physical training, if training intensity is interrupting your menstrual cycle, your doctor will recommend a more moderate program. This will help normal menstruation begins again. Also reduce the risk of developing other conditions related to low estrogen levels, such as osteoporosis, heart disease, infertility and thinning of the tissues lining the vagina.
* Hormone imbalance: If altered hormone levels are preventing ovulation (release of an egg from the ovary), it is likely that your doctor may prescribe supplemental hormones.
* Tumors or cysts in the ovaries, uterus or the pituitary gland: if the cause of amenorrhea are cysts or tumors, treatment depends on the type and location. Sometimes surgery is needed.

When To Call a Professional

You should contact your doctor if you turned 14 and has not started to develop breasts or pubic hair or turned 16 years and have not had your first menstrual period.

There was a time when fitness training was quite generic. The premise was simply to get people moving and the results would come. What we now know is that there is no “one size fits all” training program that will work for everyone, and that learning how to customize training in order to meet individuals needs is very important.

Much ado is made about the current health crisis, and for good reason. With obesity numbers on the rise, fitness is now more important than ever. Each day more people realise that exercise is key, and these people are indeed seeking help with the ways in which to transform their body. For this reason, the fitness industry has continued to grow, and shows no signs of decline. In the current job marketing, preparing yourself to work within a growing field is simply the smartest move.

Modern fitness training must not only be customized, but must also take into account physical ailments and limitations. Better overall physical health is now linked to better mental health. Those who do have limitations can still reap the benefits of exercise, and those who are able to train these individuals are in high demand. By completing training courses, you too can be one of the people that have the privilege of working within this highly lucrative and rewarding industry.

Duration

In many teenagers with primary amenorrhea, puberty is delayed, but there is a permanent problem. In the case of women with secondary amenorrhea, duration of the disease depends on the cause. For example, the pregnancy stops the woman’s menstrual periods until the birth of the baby, while a woman stops taking birth control pills may not have a period for three months or a year.

Emotional or physical stress may block the release of luteinizing hormone and make it last as long as amenorrhea source of stress. The loss or rapid weight gain, medications and chronic diseases can also cause the absence of one or more periods. Amenorrhea is permanent after the onset of menopause or after hysterectomy.

Prevention

In many cases, teens can help prevent primary amenorrhea by a reasonable exercise program and maintaining a normal weight for height and age. Primary amenorrhea caused by anatomic abnormalities of the reproductive tract can not be prevented. To prevent secondary amenorrhea related to diet, excessive exercise or stress, you can follow these steps:

     * Eat a low fat diet that meets the recommended daily nutritional requirements.
* Exercise moderately but not excessively, to maintain body weight and muscle tone ideals.
* Find healthy outlets for emotional stress and daily conflicts.
* Balance work, recreation and rest.
* Avoid excessive consumption of alcohol and snuff.

Symptoms

Amenorrhea itself is a symptom. Any associated symptoms depend on the problem caused by the absence of menstrual periods. For example, various forms of hormonal imbalance may cause amenorrhea, as well as excess body and facial hair, acne, decreased voice, altered sex drive, breast milk secretions, weight gain, some or all of these symptoms.

Diagnosis

Your doctor will ask about: the date of your last menstrual period

    * If sexually active
* Methods of birth control
* Their pregnancy history
* Eating habits, rapid weight changes, obesity or extreme underweight
* Typical monthly menstrual patterns (regular or irregular cycles)
* The age at which his mother entered menopause (many mothers and daughters enter menopause at about the same age)
* How much stress in your life and how you deal
* Your exercise regimen
* The types of medications you take

If your doctor is concerned about a specific cause of amenorrhea, such as a hormonal abnormality, he will ask additional questions about specific symptoms related to hormones, like acne, increased body hair, extreme sensitivity to cold temperatures, dry skin, constipation , hair loss or unusual breast secretions. If you are an athlete, especially a runner, your doctor will ask about your training program, particularly if body fat your body is less than 22% or if your weight is less than 80% of ideal.

Then, review your medical history, perform a general physical examination and a complete pelvic exam. Once you determine you are not pregnant, try to identify the root cause of the absence of their periods. In many cases, you can perform the following simple tests:

    * Blood and urine tests can detect imbalances of female hormones caused by problems with the pituitary gland or ovaries. If you encounter problems, you can perform other tests to check levels of thyroid hormones and adrenal are normal.
* Pelvic Ultrasound: This test, which is painless, uses sound waves to detect problems in the structure of the uterus and ovaries.
* Try to progesterone challenge: your doctor may treat it with the hormone progesterone for a few days to see if the cause you have your period. If menstrual bleeding occurs, it is likely that amenorrhea is associated with a condition called anovulation, which means it does not release a mature egg in the middle of their menstrual cycle. If the bleeding does not occur, your doctor will do blood tests is to check the levels of follicle-stimulating hormone. These levels can help determine if the problem comes from the ovaries or hypothalamus.

If these tests fail to detect the cause of the absence of their periods will require further specialized tests. Sometimes the diagnosis of amenorrhea can be quite complicated, as there are many causes.

Amenorrhea means that a woman of childbearing age not menstruate.

A woman normally menstruate every 23 to 35 days. The cycle is regulated by the brain called the hypothalamus, which also controls body temperature, appetite and blood pressure. The hypothalamus stimulates the pituitary gland (located near the base of the brain) to release two hormones that regulate the female reproductive cycle: luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone.

These hormones influence the production of the hormones estrogen and progesterone, which are responsible for cyclic changes in the lining (lining) of the uterus, including menstruation. For a woman’s cycles are regular, the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, ovaries and uterus must be functioning properly. The anatomy of the neck of the uterus (cervix) and vagina should also be normal to allow the passage of blood.

There are two types of amenorrhea:

Primary amenorrhea occurs when a woman has had her first menstrual period (menarche) at age 16. This condition, also called “delayed menarche,” is most frequently due to delayed puberty, a very common among adolescents are very thin or very athletic. Commonly, these girls are underweight and their bodies have not experienced the normal increase in body fat associated with puberty that drives the onset of menstruation. In other girls, the delay of menses may be due to Turner syndrome, a genetic disorder involving the sex chromosomes, or abnormal female reproductive organs.

Secondary amenorrhea occurs when a woman who has menstruated previously not menstruate for three months. The causes of secondary amenorrhea may be the following:

    * Pregnancy (the most common cause)
* Breastfeeding (lactation)
* Menopause, menstruation normal end of the age-related
* Premature ovarian failure (menopause before age 40 years)
* Hysterectomy (surgical removal of uterus)
* Suspension of pills for birth control
* Use long-acting progesterone, such as Depo-Provera for birth control
* Tumors in the pituitary gland, especially prolactinomas
* Polycystic ovarian disease, a condition that causes abnormal levels of estrogen, luteinizing hormone and other hormones
* Endocrine disorders such as Cushing’s syndrome, where the levels of cortisol, an adrenal hormone, are too high, or hyperthyroidism, abnormally high levels of thyroid hormone
* Emotional or physical stress
* Rapid weight loss
* Obesity
* Frequent vigorous exercise
* Chronic (long term), such as colitis, kidney failure or cystic fibrosis
* Chemotherapy to treat cancer
* Cysts or tumors in the ovaries

Amenorrhea affects between 2 and 5% of all women of childbearing age in the United States. Athletes, especially young women may be more likely to have amenorrhea. While exercise or physical activity by themselves do not cause amenorrhea, it is more likely to occur in women who exercise very intensely or who increase the intensity of exercise rapidly. Women who play sports associated with a low body weight, such as ballet or gymnastics, are more likely to develop amenorrhea than those in other sports.
